Typically, it takes between 4-6 months for a Trademark to be registered by the UK Intellectual Property Office.
Registering your company name at Companies House does not give any protection over your use of that name.
Helpful tip
Search before you set to work designing you Logo and having marketing materials/websites prepared – it is very expensive to rebrand if you discover that you are infringing someone else’s registered rights.
